I actually had to look up beer cheese to find out what it is! According to Wikipedia it's a "cheese spread" and "Commercially produced beer cheese usually consists of a processed cheese base with a sharp cheddar flavor, while homemade varieties almost always start with sharp cheddar cheese. To this, enough beer is added to provide flavor and texture, as well as garlic, and a variety of spices including dry mustard, horseradish and cayenne pepper." These are beer cheese cupcakes with cream cheese, cheddar and bacon (!!) frosting, by Honolulu, Hawaii's Let Them Eat Cupcakes. WOW! They've gone all out for a special Super Bowl flavor. If that's too savory for you, check out their Twinkie cupcakes they made for First Friday, an even I am determined to attend when I next visit Honolulu. Via their Facebook page. Contact them at 808-531-2253 and visit cupcakes808.com for more information.
